How often should I get my carpet cleaned?
One to two times per year, depending on how quickly your carpet gets soiled.
It is better to have carpets cleaned as soon as they begin to show soil; this will prolong the life of your carpets. Excessively soiled carpets make the cleaning process more difficult and will shorten the life of your carpet.
What kind of cleaning does your company do?
Our company specializes in hot water extraction, also known as steam cleaning. Usually the carpet is preconditioned with a special detergent to suspend ground-in dirt; then a hot water cleaning solution is injected into the carpet. The suspended soil and cleaning solution are then extracted by a very strong vacuum, removing as much water as possible so your carpet will dry as quickly as possible.
How long does it usually take to dry?
It usually takes 3 to 24 hours to dry depending on the airflow, humidity in the room, and how dirty your carpet was. It may take as long as 24 hours to dry if your carpet was heavily soiled or the drying conditions are not ideal.
How long before we should walk on the carpet?
It is best to allow the carpet to dry completely before walking on it.
Can you remove difficult stains?
Yes. We routinely remove stains such as Kool-Aid, rust, mustard, ink, and many other types of stains. We use different types of chemicals for each stain and carpet type. Many carpets today are treated with a stain repellant that will keep stains from setting in. Spills should be blotted immediately with water only. If water will not work, call us for a recommendation on cleaning the stain. Many store bought stain removers will set stains as they are not designed for specific stains or carpets.
We routinely recommend a stain repellant such as Scotchgard for your carpet as they do provide additional protection for spills. We apply the repellant just after we clean your carpet.
